Rider Interview | Why Moge Chooses the SP TEAM

Rider Interview | Why Moge Chooses the SP TEAM

Rider Interview | Yuya Miyauchi (MOGE) on the TEAM

When it comes to combining powerful response with exceptional support, the TEAM stands at the top of the SP Bindings lineup.

Designed as a true flagship model, the TEAM delivers the precision needed for jumps and carving while maintaining the versatility required for jibbing and all-mountain riding. But how does it perform in the hands of a rider who spends much of his time in the park?

We sat down with SP rider Yuya Miyauchi, better known as "Moge," who has been riding the TEAM since last season. From the responsive HC PRO Highback to the secure feel of the ULTRALIGHT PU Strap, he shared his thoughts on the technology behind the binding and how it translates into real-world performance on snow.

Q1. You've been riding the TEAM since last season. What stands out most about it today?

Yuya Miyauchi:

The first thing that comes to mind is the design.

I love the understated look and the black-based color scheme. It has a premium feel that makes me excited to ride every time I strap in.

But it's not just about looks. What really stands out is how versatile it is. Whether I'm in the park, carving groomers, or simply freeriding around the mountain, the TEAM feels right at home. It's the kind of binding I naturally reach for because I know I can trust it in any situation.

Q2. The TEAM is known for its responsiveness. How does that benefit you when riding jumps?

Yuya Miyauchi:

The response is incredibly direct, which makes it easier to ride exactly the line I'm imagining.

From the approach to the takeoff, there is virtually no lag between what I want to do and what the board does. The binding transfers my movements immediately, allowing me to focus entirely on execution.

As the jumps get bigger, that responsiveness becomes even more important. It gives me the confidence to commit knowing the board will react exactly as expected.

Q3. How does the TEAM perform when riding rails and boxes?

Yuya Miyauchi:

The support and hold are what stand out most.

When I'm pressing hard on a rail or box, my feet stay locked in and stable, allowing me to confidently put weight where I need it. The binding responds well to subtle adjustments too, which makes it easier to express my own style on features.

That combination of stability and control is something I really appreciate.

Q4. The HC PRO Highback is designed for quick response. When do you notice that most?

Yuya Miyauchi:

High-speed riding is where I notice it the most.

Even when carrying a lot of speed, edge-to-edge transitions feel incredibly sharp and precise. It allows me to stay on my intended line without hesitation.

On rough terrain or in situations where speed is high, that responsiveness becomes a major advantage and gives me a lot of confidence.

Q5. How would you describe the support provided by the ULTRALIGHT PU Strap?

Yuya Miyauchi:

The support is outstanding.

At high speeds, it gives me a tremendous sense of security, and when I'm putting a lot of pressure through the board, it holds everything firmly in place.

What makes it unique is that despite this strong support, the SP design still allows for excellent ankle mobility thanks to its heel-cup-free construction. That freedom makes a big difference when riding rails, jibbing, or working on more technical freestyle movements.

It's secure when you need support and flexible when you need freedom. That balance is one of the TEAM's greatest strengths.

Q6. The TEAM offers a balanced flex that isn't overly stiff or soft. What type of rider would benefit most from that?

Yuya Miyauchi:

I'd recommend it to riders who don't want to limit themselves to a single discipline.

Whether you're into park riding, carving, ground tricks, or simply exploring different aspects of snowboarding, the TEAM can handle it all. It provides strong response without feeling demanding, making it an incredibly versatile binding for a wide range of riding styles.

Q7. What gives you confidence when riding in the park?

Yuya Miyauchi:

The immediate response.

When I need to switch from toe edge to heel edge, the binding reacts instantly. There's no delay.

That responsiveness allows me to make small line adjustments during an approach and gives me confidence when setting up for features. As a result, it opens the door to more creative lines and a wider variety of tricks.

Q8. If you had to describe the TEAM in just one phrase, what would it be?

Yuya Miyauchi:

"The perfect binding!" (laughs)

The design, support, responsiveness, and freedom of movement are all perfectly balanced. Everything I look for in a binding is packed into the TEAM.

Q9. What goals or projects do you have with the TEAM moving forward?

Yuya Miyauchi:

Thankfully, more and more riders have started using the TEAM, including people who follow me online and riders who participate in my Moge Camps.

Moving forward, I'd like to showcase the TEAM across a wider range of riding styles—not just jumps, but also jibbing, freeriding, and everything in between.

My goal is to help more riders understand what makes this binding so special through videos and riding content.

The TEAM Feeling

One thing became clear throughout this interview: the TEAM is more than just a high-performance binding.

It's a tool that allows riders to translate their vision directly onto the snow.

With the quick response of the HC PRO Highback, the exceptional support of the ULTRALIGHT PU Strap, and the natural freedom of movement that defines SP Bindings, the TEAM delivers confidence across every aspect of snowboarding.

Whether you're hitting jumps, locking into rails, carving hard on groomers, or exploring new tricks, the TEAM provides the balance of control, support, and freedom needed to push your riding further.

After hearing Moge describe it as the "perfect binding," there's only one thing left to do—experience it for yourself.
